We See You: Supporting All 300+ Neurodivergent Conditions Through the Chronic Illness Hotline

When most people hear the word “neurodivergent,” they often think of autism or ADHD. And while these conditions are certainly central to the neurodivergent experience, they are just the tip of the iceberg.
The truth is this: there are over 300 different conditions that fall under the neurodivergent umbrella and far too many of them go unrecognized, misunderstood, or unsupported. At the Chronic Illness Hotline, we’re working to change that.

💡 What Does “Neurodivergent” Really Mean?
Neurodivergence refers to variations in the brain and nervous system that affect how people think, learn, regulate emotion, process information, or move through the world. These differences aren’t deficits, they’re part of natural human diversity.

The list is long and growing:
Autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, dyslexia, dyspraxia, OCD, Tourette’s, epilepsy, sensory processing disorder, nonverbal learning disorder, acquired brain injuries, tic disorders, cognitive dysfunction (“brain fog”), and many more—including many that intersect with chronic illness.

🌱 Neurodivergence and Chronic Illness: A Complex Web
Here’s the truth many systems overlook:
Neurodivergence and chronic illness often overlap.
People with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), POTS, fibromyalgia, or long COVID often report brain fog, sensory sensitivity, or executive dysfunction – symptoms also present in ADHD or autism. Mental health challenges, trauma, and rare neurological conditions add further complexity.

It’s rarely just one diagnosis.

It’s a constellation.

And yet, support systems are often siloed: mental health here, disability services there, chronic illness support somewhere else, if at all.

This fragmentation leaves too many people navigating their health without clarity, validation, or real help.

📞 That’s Where the Chronic Illness Hotline Comes In

We are building the Chronic Illness Hotline with a simple, powerful mission:

No one should have to navigate illness or neurodivergence alone.

We’re not just here for the “well-known” conditions.

We support:

  • The diagnosed and the undiagnosed
  • The “in-between” folks who don’t fit medical boxes
  • People who are still learning the language for their experience
  • People who’ve been dismissed, gaslit, or told “it’s all in your head”
  • If your brain or body works differently and you’re struggling—we’re here.
    Full stop.

    💬 What Support Looks Like
At the hotline, we will offer:
  • Nonjudgmental listening: No shame, no scripts.
  • Peer support from people who get it: Many of us are neurodivergent and chronically ill ourselves.
  • Resource navigation: We’ll help you find providers, communities, and tools that actually make a difference.
  • Validation: We believe you.

Whether you’re dealing with multiple conditions, no clear diagnosis, or the exhaustion of trying to explain yourself over and over again, you don’t have to do it alone.

✨ Because Neurodivergent Lives Deserve Full Support
You are not too complex.
You are not “too much.”
You are not broken.
You’re navigating a world that wasn’t built for your brain or body and that’s why we’re building this hotline.

With over 300 conditions and counting, neurodivergence is not a niche – it’s part of the human story. And every single part of that story deserves support, understanding, and care.

Let’s rewrite the narrative, together.
