What is a fiscal sponsor?
A fiscal sponsor is a nonprofit organization that allows a project or initiative to operate under its legal and tax-exempt 501(c)3 status. This means that, as a donor, you can make a tax-deductible contribution to the fiscal sponsor, and they will then direct those funds to the specific project you’re supporting, such as Project Build which is creating the Chronic Illness Hotline.
When you donate through the links found on our website, your donation is automatically directed to our project.
Fiscal sponsors also provide important administrative support, such as managing the funds, ensuring compliance with legal and financial regulations, and handling reporting requirements. This structure allows the project to focus on its mission and goals without needing to establish its own nonprofit organization.
When donating to a project with a fiscal sponsor, your support is handled with the same accountability and transparency as any other charitable donation, ensuring your contribution is used effectively and responsibly.
Meet our Fiscal Sponsor, AnchoRRa
Our plan is that once the initial rounds of fundraising and grantwriting is completed and donations to start the project are secured, we will focus on applying for our own, separate 501(c)3 designation.
